Students worked together to create snow sculptures at Frankenmuth's Snowfest.
Students visited local farm to see how they use technology with their computerized milking system.
Students sold carnations for Valentine's Day to raise money for special Art and Technology projects.
Students learned the importance of shared working environments and how to take care of them.
Students visited a local screenprinting shop see how art is used in the community to serve others.
Older students often worked together to help out younger students in our school.
1st graders worked on learning scripts and creating props to perform short plays for their peers.
1st graders used the Sock Puppet app to design a sock puppet and environment. With assistance, they moved it to PicCollage and added their photo and dictated sentences about their puppet. It was then e-mailed and printed.
This is the favorite time of the year for all!
Students in my 7th/8th grade Tech Enrichment class posed for the photo. Then every student put their own editing touch on it, adding filters, effects, and text. We made them into notecards and prints and sold them throughout the school year. This is my edited version. I use it often.
Once in a while I will have students participate in an art contest. This particular one was Crayola's Go Green contest. My 1st grade student, Jamison, won a trip to the Crayola Factory in PA and the school won a slew of Crayola art supplies!
Eighth graders decorated cookies as part of their "Careers in Art" learning. They visited our local bakery and spoke with the owner about how her career is related to art and how she became successful. This is just one of ways I connect students with the community.
Students from St. Paul and Het Kofschip in Zevenaar, Netherlands exchanged ATCs, letters, and videos.
I was approached through Artsonia to participate with other schools around the nation to create a visual representation of our state. All images were then made into a book that could be purchased. My 4th graders had a blast participating!
This showcases the 10 students chosen for the 2015 MAEA Regional Art Show. Four out of these 10 pieces were selected to be sent to Lansing for judging at the state level. All were chosen as top 100 in the state. In addition, a 5th piece was chosen as Director's Choice at the Regional show. I have had several pieces move on to the state level since my involvement in 2008.
Students created fused glass pieces in a microwave kiln. Some were used as fundraising items.
